But according to most people this senile old geriatric got 16 million more votes than Obongo did in his first election. I for one cannot accept that Americans are so dumb!

I thought the same thing before we elected Clinton the first time. I was sure we’d come to our senses and not re-elect him given all the evidence of how he had made a fool of America around the world in his first term and set the ultimate example a lack of character as integrity. I was wrong.
I’m not sure if we are a nation full of lazy, willfully ignorant voters or if the voting system was (and still is) so desperately rigged even that long ago. Clearly, there are a great deal of people who actually did vote for these obviously worthless politicians though. There are a great many people who still choose to believe the puppet in the White House is our legitimate President and even belongs in that position. That takes some serious mental gymnastics, given all the evidence to the contrary.
Call it stupidity or willfully ignorant or whatever you want; we are a nation heading toward destruction from within. In the words of Jefferson, “ The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
It is human nature to devolve into our worst selves after achieving our greatest heights (after rising to the position of being one of only two superpowers in the Cold War, we went on to become the sole supreme power). If you study the biblical history of Israel, there is a cycle that continued for thousands of years. This cycle shows them only coming out of their greatest persecution and devastation in order to rise to their highest heights when they repented as a nation and turned back to the God that defined who they were. They, as a nation, humbled themselves and prayed, begging for forgiveness and salvation from the only one who could save them. These cycles lasted generations, but they continue to be a nation millennia after their inception (even if that nation has been decimated and scattered repeatedly).
I don’t think we have experienced nearly enough pain as a nation to even consider such a drastic course of action. We enjoy self-worship far too much.
