The US has withdrawn from a war they started leaving other countries to finish what they started and fcked up.

are you suggesting that the US war in/against Afghanistan was not only winnable but justified? If so please explain. How was it "winnable" - what would victory in Afghanistan look like? Because I don't see any way that Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria - the entire Arab world could be forcibly "civilized" by USA or anyone else.
Permanent / long term occupation of the land itself has been tried before. Great Britain, former Soviet Union both tried to exert their will upon the land - and failed miserably. The USA expedition to the region predictably ended in abject failure and it came at great cost in blood and treasure.
But if you have some wisdom and insight that no one else thought of - please do enlighten us.
@Republic7, @Foz01 I think their "intentions" or motivations for the Afghanistan expedition are debatable. I for one do not believe their motives were in any way shape or from altruistic. I'm not even sure there was ever a thought given to "victory" in that war. As far as I know there was never any clearly defined goal or mission - no description of what or how "victory" would be defined much less achieved.
