Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.HL Mencken had amazing insight and foresight. I love this quote from him. I am not sure the date when he spoke it but the man died in 1956 I believe. He was a true journalist - true to the task and the duty of journalism.
If there is anyone like HL Mencken working in journalism today I would love to know who that is. Alas we are lost like castaways being tossed about on a rickety boat in a sea of lies and propaganda. And if anyone like HL Mencken lives today his/her voice is drowned out by the lying harpies of what passes for "journalism" today.
