This is a good basic analysis.

However, I would contend there are 3 groups of people who concede their right to perceive: 1. Those who concede their right to perceive instantly because they are told by somebody in authority or with power what to believe they perceive. 2. Those who concede after seeing the consensus (early followers) and feel threatened by those who don’t follow, so they become combatively committed Karens (thereby retaining some personal power over others to replace the power over themselves they have conceded). 3 those who concede their right to perceive out of fear of the consequences of not conceding.

Some of the first and their groups will change their minds if there is enough resistance to halt the swell of tyranny, but the more committed any group becomes and the more they have sacrificed on account of the forced perception, the more committed they will be. The key for tyranny to succeed in keeping them is to require that everybody gets as much skin in the game as possible gradually but quickly. Too quickly and you’ll push them over the edge; to slowly and your power over their false perception will begin to degrade. It’s a fragile balance of momentum without overwhelming them completely.
