I used to watch “quantum leap” decades ago and loved it. It was funny and thought provoking. The mad a new version of “quantum leap” with the woke formula and completely destroyed it. First, they had to ensure there were no main characters that were straight white males, because “straight white males are toxic”. The key characters from before were two white men and now one of those characters has a woman playing half of that role and a Black man playing the other part. The other key role is played by an Asian man, but he also has a woman behind the scenes supporting his new plan. Then there’s a new role for a computer geek that seems less than competent, but he’s a key player now where you would have only heard his role referred to in the old series. That role is played by a gender confused guy? The writers/producers go out of their way to try to find things to make him/her/it relevant, but fail miserably.
So, maybe older men should be flattered by this woke foolishness. Apparently, what used to be done by two straight white male characters must now be done by two women, two minorities and something else that is neither male nor female, but seems to be humanish? If I were a young man, I think I’d be inspired to prove I’m not the worthless nanny pamby wimp the woke community depicts. I know both my sons-in-law are real men capable of achieving great things and not held back by fear and indecision. They are responsible providers for and protectors of their family. There are still a few real men out there and their wives appreciate them rather than seeing them as toxic.
