When most people lived on farms every kid was familiar with sex. Kids saw dad breeding animals and even got to hear mom and dad getting it on in the two room shack they lived in. The problem here is that sex is glamorized and that has been a problem for a long time. Picturing stylized images of people with venereal disease would probably more appropriate. Reality is not the left's cup of tea.
Society to some degree has been taken over by the open gregarious types with low impulse control and a tendency to prefer fantasy to reality. Combine that with the propensity to be neurotic and you end up with a nihilistic and narcissistic society. A song comes to mind concerning the tragedy of the open gregarious personality.
Here I go, playing that same old game again

Sex for sex sake is a recipe for disastrous relationships for most people. It goes beyond just failed marriage and interferes in all aspects of social relationships. A promiscuous society is a society without trust and cooperation.
I have seen the current crisis developing almost my entire life. While the monkey life may appeal to our instincts the world we live in is artificial. It is made up of complex culturally evolved social customs that have little to do with nature. Civilization itself depends on artificial eusociality.
