I do not believe that any group of people is totally homogenous. NOT every person who identifies as Christian is a Mature, complete, practicing devotë of the teachings of Christ.
In the same way, I don’t believe that all leftists and democrats are Of low intelligence.
This leadership certainly isn’t. The leadership craftily exploits the ignorance, naïveté, and idealism of youth to support their world view.
The military recruits youth while they are still malleable, searching for Acceptance in a group. We are all herd animals before we figure out who we are, and what we stand for.
Archie Bunker and George Jefferson were obvious racists. Racism is foolish and naive, and the very best way we can get beyond it, as a society, is to show how absurd it is and laugh at it.

Good points David. Even some highly intelligent people are unable to use their intelligence, because most of us (of any intelligence) have suffered trauma that has arrested our emotional development. When we are locked into a coping mechanism and no longer mentally flexible about how we deal with the World, whatever intelligence we have then serves that pathology.
Leftist leadership tend to be heavily weighted by individuals like this who are locked into a victim mentality. And they are happy to direct others who are unsure of what they believe to do whatever it takes, including make war, to build their utopia - regardless of what history has proved.

Its Extremely Dangerous to consider ANY Opponent to be “Unintelligent” because THAT is almost NEVER True.
I know LOTS of people on the Left who are Highly Intelligent.
It could be said that they are “Intellectually Incurious” or “Intellectually Dishonest” or simply “Brainwashed”.
When someone is fed a steady stream of Bullshit and ... is offered LOTS of Bullshit “References” as “Sources” to allegedly back up the Original Stream of Bullshit ... its very hard to even realize you’re up to your neck in Bullshit never mind realize that you need to look for a way out because ALL You Know is Bullshit.
It gets to the point when someone offers you a Shovel, you can’t understand WHY you would want to dig yourself out of the Bullshit.
People ... mostly get comfortable with WHATEVER Situation they’ve grown up with ... adapted to ... regardless how hideous that situation might be.
However, just because they can’t see they’re covered in ... fed full of ... Bullshit DOES NOT Mean they’re “Unintelligent”.

Pretty good article. I think there are intelligent people on both sides of the equation, but are those who target humor with their intolerance intellectually inferior, or intellectually lazy? A generation ago, the Left boasted about it's open-mindedness. They preached fairness, tolerance, non-violence, and equality. I think they took tolerance to the extreme sometimes, but that was far, far better than what we have today. Instead of doing the work required to engage in thoughtful discussion and debate, it seems there are those who prefer the lazy route....create parameters for "proper" behavior, and marginalize those who don't abide by them.
What happened to the Left? Maybe some of you who remember those days can enlighten us as to how the party of tolerance became a party of suppression.

I dunno ... from what I recall, the Left has never really changed and, as a kid (really, a kid of 12-16 in the 60s and 70s) I was completely aboard ... I was pretty hard core Left.
As I recall, We were “open minded”, “tolerant” and into “equality” ... as long as it “fit” with “Our Mindset” ... We were fairly non-violent because Our Whole Mantra was “Peace ... Mannn” but that doesn’t mean We weren’t violent ... there was simply less of it and Much Less Coverage of it.
Then I found my way to Critical Thinking at 17/18 and it took a couple years after that to shake off the Bullshit I’d been wallowing in.
So ... Sorry, but I can’t recall “...how the party of tolerance (the Left / Democrats) became a party of suppression” because, my actual experience and view of history is that while the Left has willingly been more or less strident ... violent ... oppressive ... they’ve NEVER actually “Changed” ... they’ve simply been less or more Obvious.
