Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I worked as a prison guard for a year down in Texas years ago. We lost two female officers for having affairs with inmates. The worst one was stopped while trying to smuggle a weapon in for her sweetheart to use in an escape with his promise he would take her back to Mexico with him where she would live like a queen. Another female officer quit after an inmate that had developed an infatuation with her attacked her.
On the other hand we lost a couple of male guards. One was suckered by a father and son who worked with some Mexican cartel that they would send him 50 grand if he helped them escape. They got about ten miles down the road then promptly ratted the guard out. Another lost his job because he stole a pistol from the weapons locker to smuggle to some inamtes in an escape plan. The guard was never charged, he was realted to all the right people in the county, but he did have to quit. The only reason that plot was found out was because other prisoners over heard things and they knew the guys planned on killing a bunch of people on their way out the door. The guard would probably have been able to even keep his job but too many of the other guards wanted to take him out to the desert...

What makes you say that?
@DontbeanassO every time female cops are faced with a noncompliant Male and sometimes female perps it requires at least 1 Male and sometimes 2 or 3 Male cops to rush to the scene first to protect the female cop and 2ndd in order to subdue the noncompliant perps.
There have been a number of cases in which the female cop escalated to use of lethal force because the perp took advantage oh her inability to physically restrain and effect the arrest herself resulting in the shooting death of a noncompliant Male perp who in all likelihood could have been taken alive by a Male cop
Female cops represent a drain on Police resources and a higher probability of lethal Police encounters.
That's a high price to pay for the PC dictate of putting women in Police uniform with gun and badge.
@iThink that's a sound argument. It's very similar to the one my husband used to convince me not to join. I do think there are some very specific uses for female cops, but for the most part I agree with you. In general, I don't think we belong in policing, military, or really even management. There is a reason for gender norms.
@DontbeanassO Yes I agree that there probably is a place for women in law enforcement. But only in roles where physical confrontation is not part of the equation.
