a) quarantining without testing first is just not intelligent. Can you say incubator?
b) here in mexifornia "essential" has taken on the meaning of keeping most of the economy going and giving government employees paid time-off.
c) i've not stopped going to work.
d) stores have not stopped being open though most seem to have reduced their hours open to the public.
e) i can still go to drive-up windows and get my mainstay of health... fast food.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.They aren't giving out tests to anyone who isn't symptomatic as far as I know, with the exception of a few public officials and celebs. The main thing that I am doing is limiting my exposure as much as I can and sanitizing my hands after touching things in public. I have done a whole lot more wiping things down. I never take the flu, but I am being more cautious with this bug since I'm in a high risk group. I'm as careful as I can be, but I can't hunker down and be afraid. We're made of stouter stuff.

From what some doctors have been able to say in the public sphere is that the health of the person that has a high chance of being compromised by this (or any) virus has all to do if the person is diabetic and/or insulin resistant to the point of already having those ailments way developed where medical intervention is already the major reason that they are alive.
a) Agree. And if you are in an incubator, you have a 97% chance of death.
b) Politicians have no idea what is "essential." Denver just declared liquor stores as essential.
c) Good.
d) Stores are open here. But you can't dine in.'

Are you referring to the isolating measures as quarantine? There is a distinction. In theory the less human to human interaction the less a virus can spread. Shutting things down does work, but at enormous social and economic cost.

What I implied/meant was then and is now that maintaining something at the most favorable environment for its development insures that all others forced to be in the same enclosed environment has at least an 80-plus percent chance of contracting the virus, while in the wide open spaces of the society at large the chances of contracting the virus is less than ten percent-ish... but most of time less than one. Shutting things down has not worked for in all very little has "shut down"... at least in Mexifornia. Not counting the outliers such as the wacko Mayors of LA and SF the cases here in Mexifornia have been at the level of boring (save for the hype of the Fake News Networks). It may be different in your neck of the woods, or it may just be that your perceptions are ill... or not.
