I can't wait to see how many people supporting “BLM” and saying “defund the police” and talking about how bad America IS (not WAS) getting all patriotic tomorrow and Saturday. I’m sorry, for the last few month they criticized America and even on Juneteenth posted memes about how the the Declaration of Independence and the Revolutionary war didn't make people free. They want to tear down statues and erase our history. They literally want to America and everything i stands for. They don't believe America was ever good so why be mad there aren't fireworks. You better bit have bbqs for the holiday. I’m still shocked stores are even allowed to sell patriotic paraphernalia this year as I am sure that is somehow offensive since god forbid we actually live out country and show some patriotism.

I’m watching NBC and seeing previews for live celebration in NYC. Wow. If all the states actually hosting something i find iit so hypocritical of NYC. Given i have no other plans at this point i might have to watch with a few drinks cuz i can't wait to see the hypocrisy of “rah rah America ” from the same people who advocate for all the anti-America crap they have been spreading
It is possible to honestly reckon with the good and bad in history and society and be optimistic about the future of our shared political project. Patriotism != blind patriotism.

Not the way most treat it right now. Plus 4th of July is meant to to be remembrance of what America stands for and according to many of what would be considered “the Left” there is no good in America. It was founded on racism and therefor it should not be remembered, at least if we are to follow their belief to it logical conclusion.
