Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I've heard that Kroger, in response to the supposed coin shortage, is rounding everything up, to discourage paying in cash. Presumably to force more people to quit using it so the transition to a cashless society is more accepted. I'll be interested to learn what FreedomRocker finds out.

It's fake. Various sites show the real receipt (same cust number, date, time, cashier name scratch out). It's a coin shortage charge Kroger implemented for cash transactions. Instead of giving coin change back, the charge is credited to a loyalty card you can use at the store. Or they'll give it to charity if you wish (have no idea which one).

Perhaps one can choose BLM as the recipient of the credit? I'll buy a 12 pack at Kroger with cash tomorrow and get the skinny on this
@FreedomRocker I thought about that, but why would there be two versions of this receipt floating around the web? One or the other has clearly been doctored. As much as I despise BLM, I think someone took a legit receipt and is trying to stir the pot. I ain't buyin' it.

@FreedomRocker Man, this has caused such a stink that the links I found last night are buried. Here's a link to a similar Snopes article, but this one shows a third version of the same receipt, along with a different claim!
