Maybe the settlement wasn't so lucrative to Sandman - perhaps all he got was a formal apology and he only received a dollar and payment of his legal expenses. On the other hand he might have received a very large sum of money in this settlement. We will not be privy to the details of the settlement.
Nevertheless, WaPo and CNN and all the rest have not changed their lying ways one bit since this lawsuit was brought against them by Sandman.
So the answer is no. They will continue lying in every possible way about people who are White, Conservative...

It is like a David and Goliath real life story, but with Goliath being unharmed in the end. 🥺
CNN lost more on lawyer costs by far than from the settlement. $250k at most_ based on previous lawsuits, likely less . They made 10X+ that on clicks from the story. Not sure how to fix that problem because I abhor propagandists and they make a lot of money right now.
@Penrodster newspapers and other large powerful media carry insurance in order to cover things like judgements against them - which they rarely lose in those cases in the first place.
Settlement monies are payed out by the insurance company and not by the Respondent in liability cases against WaPo and others. WaPo won't really suffer any great loss - not at all. In fact the negotiations over the terms of a settlement are worked out between the plaintif attorneys and the Insurance company attorneys.
I always thought the kid was a bit of a prick, I would have just walked away and taken my disrespectful smirk with me.

They're not in the business of learning lessons. Their business is shaping narratives that drive agendas, regardless of the costs. It really has nothing to do with journalism any more but everything to do with marketing. They'll just pad the billing for advertising to make up the shortfall from lawsuits. Even millions of dollars mean little these days.

Sadly true. The news outlets have become little more than tabloids. Actually, a tabloid like the National Inquirer would have more accurate news these days.
