California fires: clime change or poor management?

The geological and archaeological record shows that the western United States is subject to droughts. The most severe periods of drought seem to come during periods of climate warming. So yes the contribution of anthropogenic warming is a factor. That the Western United States may be entering a new period of drought has been the consensus for decades.

The thing is that the way to deal with climate change in the Western United States could never have been the reduction of anthropogenic co2. The billions of dollars that the government of California has spent on co2 reduction never had any hope of significantly altering co2 levels on a planetary scale. Since this reality was well known a decade ago it calls into question why no attempt to adapt was made.

When your ideology (mental orientation) gets in the way of adapting that is the definition of insanity. When what should be obscures what is that is an emotional disability.

Bad management. I worked in the lumber industry for 8 years. Every Forest Service timber harvesting contract required the loggers to clean up and haul away limbs and debris and then replant. This meant that every 20 years or so, most forests would be harvested and replanted.

Back then a bad forest fire was
twenty to fifty thousand acres. Now they're millions of acres.

BTW, here's an article about Sierra Pacific Industries, which owns the mill I worked at in Anderson, CA. They're smart, nimble and scrappy. And they've become the last lumber barons in America.

Poor management & criminal arsonists doing mindless criminal things. " 76 percent of scientists " acknowledge the possible chance of a sunrise tomorrow. As far as earth shattering climate catastrophes. They can't reach unanimous verdicts. For an ice Age or the opposite causing seas to rise.

We've been through this over here... it is waaaaaaaay more, poor management, than anything to do with change in climate.
One big question local governments need to answer is..... why do you let people build in fire prone zones?

So someone brought up that most of the fires in CA start on lands owned by the federal government and they are the ones not doing the controlled burns? Anyone have input on this specifically in CA?
