Partisanship and downright animosity towards political opponents these days, and the tactics of the Progressive Left make honesty and open debate almost impossible.

Can't understand why anyone - anyone at all - would trust "the polls".
People who have a vested interest in lying to you: Car Salesmen, Reporters...your teenage sons and daughters, your wife! Politicians, Preachers, POLLSTERS LOL

I trust in polls. Especially the poll that says that 2/3 of people lie in other polls.
In 2016 and acquaintance who works with political consultants assured me that Trump was well ahead of Hillary, regardless of what the polls were saying. I thought it was wishful thinking until the election results came in. to this day, I don't know how he knew what he knew, but he was 100% correct. The moral of the story... don't believe anything you hear in polls or from the MSM. There are too many parties who benefit from lying to us.
