Now in no shape or form am I saying that women have it easy in this world. This chart is generally referring to Western women. As we all know, women in 3rd world countries (Especially the Middle East) have a long way to go to be considered close to equal to men.

I think when one surveys the history of the Middle East and the development of civilization in the "Fertile Crescent" it becomes clear that the state of women's rights compared to men's has been a roller coaster ride that had very few high points. Most notions of a matriarchal society are based on prehistoric "evidence" not established fact. By comparison to Eastern and Middle Eastern societies, Western women are privileged despite how they choose to compare themselves to Western men.
