I'm glad you posted this. The last few days I've been getting the update notice on whatsapp but nowadays those updates kind of freak me out so I keep clicking the 'ignore' button. I guess it's time to check out the other messaging apps that are available. One has to damn near hire a lawyer to go through the terms of agreement for these things now. I'm tempted to fire my phone in the garbage and go back to the old land line

Exactly. They bury their simple request — for full access to your device and records — in four pages of legal double-talk, knowing full well that no one reads it.
Using the Chinese app TikTok even gives Beijing permission to record and store every keystroke.
Using technology is the equivalent of posting personal paper documents like bank records and tax returns on your front windows. But alas, what’s the alternative?
@GeeMac Yup. Nowadays the only thing most people need when they leave their house is their phone and sunglasses. EVERYTHING is on them. I used to say that I didn't care who knew where I was or what I was doing - I'm not that interesting; however now I'm scared to use my phone for anything other than phone calls and texts. I'm also planning on ditching fb (should have done it a long time ago but there are groups on it that I find really handy). Just signed up with CloutHub so we'll see how that is.
