I am ALWAYS for the right of the people to determine their own future. If one area wants to leave, I think they should consider it VERY carefully, but in the end, they should leave. We ARE two countries. Actually, we're more than two nations, but I think it's safe to say we can divide into two nations with a reasonable chance of mostly satisfying everyone.
We are SO polarized and SO hateful of anyone who doesn't fall into our categorized ideas of 'correct/incorrect' that we refuse to hear anything they have to say. There is no medium with which to move forward for civil discourse. We are ALREADY divided without hope of reconciliation.
It is time for the people to self determinate. If we can't choose our own way, what's the point of a Republic, or a Democracy or freedom of association or any of it? We may as well have President Stalin elected for the eighth consecutive term with near unanimous results. We DO have Uncle Joe Part II. I'm sure it won't work out as poorly as Uncle Joe Part I.

well since the post Civil war Constitution was never properly ratified by the state or the citizens of Texas, they would technically be able to. Should they?? no as that is what the the left wants to bring in foreign troops and go after everyone in a divided fashion that will allow the left to win.

But how can 'we' win anything when everyone is already so divided? What are we winning? If we keep voting, we will continue to get the results voting has already brought us. The rules of the game have been changed and people who supported a candidate are being fired and threatened with worse. Do you really believe Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and Kamala Harris are interested in peace and working together and unity? Only if everyone completely agrees with them.
If states begin to leave, then they can form a coalition... a Confederacy, if you will, for mutual protection. Say, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma, etc.
We are already so hopelessly divided no one even wants to hear what the other one has to say.
Since they are financially solvent I think they should secede. If they do, I will move there in a heartbeat, well maybe two heartbeats.
