The University of British Columbia has fired an indigenous professor who says Canada is built on the blood and the attempted genocide of Indigenous peoples and is one of the most ruthless colonial regimes in the world.

When some students — in a teacher training program — pushed back on the angry classroom rants, Amie Wolf gave them negative evaluations and published their names on Twitter referring to the list as “The Dirty Dozen”.

Anyone training to be a school teacher in British Columbia is now required to sign on to all findings of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. They are not permitted to question its recommendations, only to obey and advocate. Indigenous “advisors” have been hired by all higher education faculties to ensure the TRC directives are obeyed.

The TRC, like an an old Soviet revisionist campaign, has resulted in the upheaval around renaming statues, streets and buildings, rewriting Canada’s history, dethroning Sir John A Macdonald and other leaders, a requirement to begin any public speech by declaring land to belongs to Indian tribes, and embedding indigenous “advisors” across academic, public and cultural institutions to enforce compliance.

Kudos to UBC for standing up to this BS. I hope it's for the realization of how shrill and nonsensical this type of world view is. Not everyone of a certain traditonal demographics is a victim and conversely not everyone of a certain traditonal demos is an oppressor. These veiws of "racism this, and racism that.." only serve those who exploit these catch-phrases to gin up their own self-serving ambitions.

There are no 'indigenous' Canadians.
Canada, and North America, were both inhabited by the same Siberian migrants some 23,000 years ago.
Their best distinction from every one else born in the US, and Canada, who is 'native' by the very definition of the word, would be, 'First Nation Settlers'.
Maybe learn to defend, after settling?
