I guess I'm a skeptic - we are living in a time of "universal deceit" - (borrowed from a quote of the great G Orwell - "In a time of universal deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act)
Problem is that today there is no distinction between a righteous revolution and a revolution that is found upon the sand - a false narrative.
And too many people on both sides believe they are righteous.
I want - you want - we all want objective truth. But can it be found today? With trickery from clever digital media editing as a reality can there be any "truthful reality"?
Even if someone speaks with confidence, authority and sincerity (on social media, in print, in news programing) - even it his words are indeed objectively true - there are people who will feign outrage, and act out with violence - such people don't really care if they violently target the person or the media venue they find so offensive - those who had the audacity to speak to a truth that those ignorant folks don't like - they are just as happy to burn and kill and destroy randomly. They just want to set the world on fire - literally - quite literally speaking.
I really think its too late to turn around - things have gotten well out of hand. I only see things gaining momentum in this downward spiral.
What emerges after the wars are over - I will never know because I'll be long dead - long gone well before this new dark age comes to an end.
After that who or what will be the "new age" dominant culture - your guess is as good as mine.
Although I am not suicidal I sometimes think (hope?) that something better awaits on the other side.
