Mixed feelings.
If someone asks you to address them a certain way - and they have the credentials to back it up - it's pretty rude to ignore them. My response would've been something like, "Oh? You are? My apologies; your screen doesn't mention that. For my benefit, would you tell me what your degree is in?" That way, you don't come off like an asshat and you put her in the position of having to defend why her mentioning she was a doctor is relevant to the conversation.
On the other hand, what she did was pretty obnxious. I mean, based on my degrees, I am entitled to refer to myself as "esquire," but I don't, because it's misleading. If my arguments cannot stand on their own merits to the point I have to start throwing out credentials, that's a bad sign for me.
Finally, calling this "white privilege" is utterly absurd. Not to put too fine a point on it, but it might've had nothing to do with her race and could've been misogyny. Right? But misogyny isn't something that gets you fired in 2021, so that's why they called it that. It's the new "I win" button.
