Five Roman Catholic Churches have now been burned to the ground in Western Canada in a wave of attacks apparently in retaliation for abuse at Indian Residential Schools. The latest Church to burn was in Alberta, while the first four arsons took place in B.C.
Here’s a question? What do you think would happen if five mosques were torched? Im guessing Justin Trudeau would be on the news nightly in tears, labelling the arsons “domestic terrorism”.
Funny how all the politicians are completely silent while places of worship topped with crosses are terrorized.

I remember my mother telling my brother the inspector will come to find out why you are not attending. No doubt it was the same for the Indian people at that time. Education is important then and now.

Canada has gotten bizarre. There used to be a joke of Canada suddenly attacking everyone and taking over the world because nobody expected it. But they are getting increasingly socialist, centralized power, nationalistic and fascistic. We've had this before and it wasn't fun.

Absolutely. It diverts attention from Trudeau’s massive failure to deliver on his promises to indigenous Canadians. It’s also adds momentum to his globalist plans by moving Canada to implement the UN Declaration of Rights of Indigenous People, and ceding more Canadian sovereignty to Indians and to UN oversight.
This is such a vexing question. I can understand the anger against the catholic church. We had a spate of church burnings here in Melbourne a few years ago when the truth of child sexual abuse came out.
The church has a lot to answer for.
But your point about double-standards is well made.

Agreed. However, the church was given an administrative role in some of these institutions by the governments and the politicians of the day - going back over a century ago. The politicians failed Canadians and indigenous people then, and they are failing them today by providing no context or leadership on this painful chapter. That failure is sparking this violence.
Another question, what do you think would happen if 751 unmarked First Nation graves were discovered at a mosque?

Likely nothing would happen.
Islamic extremists would probably argue that first-nation culture was pre-islamic and therefore not deserving of sympathy. In the view of islamists - the people in those graves were infidels, kufr, and deserved what happened to them.

I'm turning it around on you to show that if it was a mosque that committed the original atrocities, shit would have hit the fan way more than it has being a church.
@JacksonNought well, because it would be a huge deal if five mosques were torched. Trudeau would be on the news weeping at the injustice. And I would also condemn an attack on a mosque, as would any reasonable person. It’s unacceptable to burn any place of worship out of hatred.
So my question: Why not the same standard for Catholics remains.
