Conquest(s) that in turn imposed the obligation of defending that same land holdings. If they couldn’t defend their claim to that land they’ve been removed therefrom by their conqueror. It’s sickening to hear someone acknowledge the previous claimant(s) ownership right in s peaches & the like.
