@Terence57 Actually, since money talks, they do. Especially campaign donations. Note, a PM in Aussie-land had to step down because she (I think she) admitted that she was bribed and then blackmailed by a Pharm company to enforce mandates. That this is a tip of an iceberg is gross understatement.
I celebrate that Pharm spends $$B to create new treatments and drugs, things impossible most anywhere else in the world because most countries have gone down that doomed path of Gov'mt controlled healthcare. However, once the projects migrate from actual scientific investigation over to Sales&Mark, it goes to 'Ell. All that matters after that is not making money to recoup looses on the trials that crashed and burned, but making money for the TWOT that is in charge of XXX project. In this case, the fake vax. Pharm has a history of corrupt practices that dwarf anything the military got into, since Pharm mistakes ends up killing civilians -- civilians in their own country. This is crony, corrupt capitalism. And, in more normal circumstances the left would point at it as a classic example of why capitalism is evil and we all need to embrace communism. Instead, the left has made a deal with the intersectionals (sp?) and only goal now seems to be destruction. Forced vax, shutdowns, etc are part of the playbook.

@bobbo666 I'll give you this: For DECADES the dems here have included the pharmaceutical industry in their ever expanding list of "baddies." Probably the most strident bombthrower was Obama. I always got the impression that he wanted something from them. Maybe he got it, I don't know.
As for the rest of it, it isn't as though there aren't even bigger players than BigPharma who give to politicians. Perhaps the biggest is the Real Estate Industry, which took a huge hit over the last couple of years. What's that about---did the pols find a new sponser? We'll see.
It's complicated. And it's entirely possible that politicians were paying it forward for the Pharmaceuticals. Perhaps a percentage of cash in the coffers has been earmarked for the '22 race.
I know this, an even BIGGER beneficiary has been FB, Google, Amazon, and the rest of the tech industry. FB alone spent half a billion on the last election. That's power. Oh, and the BigBox stores did just fine too. Amazing that you weren't at risk for Covid in W-Mart or Lowes.
My take on the corrupting elements is somewhat more broad.
