Not being able to read the Times' piece because I refuse to subscribe to it, I tend to agree with your thoughts on crushing the enemy. If voting is as important as the left claims to believe it is then it shouldn't be easy to do for anybody; as the most important of civil duties it will always be a dangerous mistake to allow it to be trivially easy to do. It is the easy things that are abused and betrayed.

@Geofrank Honestly, I may be coming around to the idea that only the intelligentsia should be able to vote. End petty bourgeois suffrage!
@WilyRickWiles I would be in fast agreement with you so long as we could agree that intelligent and smart are not the same thing; and so perhaps it should only be the "smart-sia" that are allowed to vote. Sadly, it probably would be very difficult to develop an SQ test for rankings. But maybe that's what we call life.
@Geofrank I think in a country where we value hard work rather than brute talent, such a system should reward those who put in the effort to study deeply, not necessarily those who do well on some bogus poll IQ test.
@WilyRickWiles I agree with that. Intelligence is so much more than Stanford Binet scores.
