San Fran Voters Recall Far-Left School Board Members in Growing Trend

There is a growing trend of parents rising up against their school boards, calling on them to pay more attention to education and less to progressive agendas.

Eric Eggers, vice president of the Government Accountability Institute explains why school boards, and the teachers unions that back them, have taken on political activism in recent years. Last month the GAI published a very thorough and scathing expose called: “Teachers Unions: From Academics To Activists How Teachers Unions Reward Insiders, Promote Political Activism, And Push A Divisive Agenda.”

San Francisco is the latest place to see the trend play out. Three far-left school board members were just ousted in a landslide recall election. This is the same city where Joe Biden beat out Donald Trump by nearly 73 points in the 2020 election.

San Francisco parents say they are frustrated, for example, that in January 2021, while schools were shut over COVID, the board voted to rename 44 sites linked to “controversial” figures like Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Amid strong backlash, the plan was dropped—but not forgotten, if these election results are anything to go by. Over 70 percent of voters said “yes” to recalling school board President Gabriela López, Vice President Faauuga Moliga, and board member Alison Collins.

Lawsuit Against Race-Based COVID Treatment in New York Could Set Precedent

In New York, new COVID treatments that are in short supply, are being allocated to patients based on several factors—including race.

Specifically, this policy is for monoclonal antibodies and two new oral antivirals, all of which appear to be very effective at preventing hospitalization. The rules about who gets first access are based on medical risk factors—and also on race, where people of color are prioritized.

Anastasia Boden, senior attorney at Pacific Legal Foundation, is the lead attorney in a discrimination lawsuit filed by two white men against New York state’s health commissioner, Mary T. Bassett, and New York City's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
