Sounds like a situation where we should arm both sides, as, legend has it, Qadafi armed both the Catholics and the Protestants in Northern Ireland.

My understanding is that buying of firearms was at all time high last year and pretty much everyone seems to be armed or know someone who is armed. Off course problem is that officially war has not been declared on both sides and its not always clear who is the dangerous one. As a result we have seen mostly innocent people being killed as the police is defended and demoralized or openly against originally people, while Antifa and BLM as well as garden verity criminals are being supported, funded and trained by government. It is mostly pressure from the top and bellow, squeezing out the middle class, with a lot of innocent people as collateral. Its not the same in all states and all cities, some are worse than others, but certainly Portland has to be one of the worse.
@Krunoslav One of the reasons for heightened gun buying out here in CaCaLand (in spite of the deliberate hurdles by state gov'mt) is the decreased confidence in coppers. In many areas they deliberately stood down when Antifa/BLM thugs raged thru retail and suburban neighborhoods. When they do that, quit enforcing the laws because the thugs supposedly hold the "right" political opinions I agree that they should be defunded. With that, my home's armament goes up, significantly.
Combine that with extensive non cash bail and DA's who deliberately do not go after career criminals -- shoot first.
