The poorer the country and it's people - the higher the figure, usually (and Ukraine was and is one of the worst affected)...but it's complicated in Europe. There are a lot of gangs that lure innocent women into what seems like normal work overseas (eg cleaner, nanny etc) only to force them into sex work. Once they've done it gangs will use blackmail, extortion, threats or drugs to keep them there.
Since sex work is legal in Germany, many are forced there into brothels. It's on a scale that's hard to imagine. There are entire blocks of units that are used as brothels. There are brothels on the border that are open 24/7 and offer sweat shop deals like put down $15 and you get unlimited girls and turns for 4hrs. Some of those girls are forced to see up to 80 'clients' a day for a wage that keeps them broke and stuck. The main winners are the gangs that run this and the government (which earns millions from taxes, maybe a third of their economy).

Forcible prostitution, any kind of brothels, or procuring are treated as a felony, while voluntary prostitution is considered to be infraction against public order (for prostitutes only; clients are not in violation of law). Like in many other Southeast European countries, the problem of human trafficking for the purposes of sex is big in Croatia.

Many women from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Eastern Europe, especially from Ukraine, work as prostitutes in Croatia. Some prostitutes commute to the island of Hvar, which is a popular tourist destination.

@Tom81 Yeah. Any many young Eastern European women are psychically attractive, so its the asset they use because many feel the alternative is economic poverty. I don't support it off course but to extent I can understand their point of view. Comparatively in the United States for example, its hard to find any perspective that is understandable. Feminism has ruined western nations.

@Krunoslav ooooh, there is nothing more attractive to me than a Slavic woman. Each region has a different but equally as alluring attraction to them. Maybe it's a genetic/cultural bias of sorts though.
It is sad to see these people used, exploited and forced into these things... but there are many that also do this by choice. Some are a product of times, while others exploit the times.
I always thought it was a horrendous and desperate situation for most. Then I dated a covert/vulnerable narcissist for a brief period. Sex work is absolutely perfect for their personality type as they're lazy, manipulative/good actors, crave nothing more in life over than power and money, have almost no morals or ethics and are promiscuous by nature (and care for little more than surface value pleasure).
Narcissists are made not born, which makes it sad they became like that in the first place (and there is no cure). You'd almost feel sorry for them if they weren't so rotten and evil to the core.
Unfortunately, life being what it is in these parts of the world (and the history that's come with it) has produced or turned many people that way - and it's a vicious cycle that continues especially with the way things are at present.

Study the psychology enough and all the same patterns emerge. The narcissist I dated was a feminist, because it's all about power and control whilst playing at being the victim. All that shit would probably ruin the average, but it hit a brick wall with my autistic-like sense of logic and rationalising. I think it drove her as mad as those screeching libs you see on tik tok but I obviously didn't notice or give a fuck .
