Well, as you may have heard, they’ve killed James Bond, and his likely replacement will be a black woman. Or at least that’s the story line in No Time to Die, which contrary to the title spends a great deal of time having Bond die.
It got me reminiscing about the Bond girls and their sometimes lighthearted names. Some of my favorites: Honey Ryder, Sylvia Trench, Xenia Onatopp, Chew Mee, Dr. Molly Warmflash, Pussy Galore, Octopussy, Holly Goodhead, Mary Goodnight, Tiffany Case, Plenty O’Toole, Bambi and Thumper, Felicca, Strawberry Fields, and Kissy Suzuki. Moneypenny of course has a very special place in this pantheon.
They didn’t have to kill Bond of course. They could have ruined him some other way. Perhaps they still have plans in that direction.
