The compulsion to vote down ticket is the precise opposite of individualism – no doubt.
Come to think about it, isn’t down ticket voting, without care or consideration, a classical example of Pavlov’s Conditioning – but how could that be, you’re not a dog are you?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it Seems to me that Trevier conditioning would be more appropriate for a free populous? What is that you say? Well actually it’s just a character from “Lord of the Rings” that I was surprised to find a clip of just the other day – and I’ve just been waiting for the right place to insert it – hopefully this is it? It’s an attitude (more than anything else) that you should not be on anybodies side because nobody is altogether on your side? I was quite surprised to even find this clip as I had dredged it up from long ago memory.
