2212130900Tu INQUIRING MINDS WOULD LIKE TO KNOW?

As it appear at least a goodly part of the abortion debate centers around when and/or whether a fetus is a living human being? Without excluding other valid arguments in this regard, I’d like to know if that fetus has the identical DNA as the expectant mother? I ask this question only to put the aborting mother’s mind at rest with regard to her decision to abort her pregnancy.

It the fetus has the DNA of the prospective mother, well by all means abort that growth? But on the other hand, should that same fetus have separate distinctly different DNA from that of the prospective mother, well you have your answer that it is a separate living human being that she’s mother to?

I don’t mean to bring into question the heartbeat or any other argument on this subject. It just seems to me that the Judeo-Christian Bible has had it right all along – from the moment of inception GOD has known them as a separate entity? After all, the moment of inception is the point at which the DNA of a brand new human being is compiled – is it not? {Jeremiah 1:5}

I am actually pro choice but the celebrate your abortion bullshit has moved me a little closer toward being pro life. The biggest issue here is accountability. Pregnancy is 100% avoidable. Leave out the very low hanging fruit of rape and incest. Get condoms, use the pill. Keep your legs shut. It takes more energy to fight for the right to have an abortion than it does to avoid pregnancy. The legality of abortion is now in the hands of every state, which is where it always should have been. Where it is legal it should be highly regulated. There should be mandatory education involved. Rape and incest abortions should be allowed even where traditional abortions are illegal. As well as medical exceptions where the health of the mother is at risk. Any woman that gets an abortion or father that encourages an abortion as a solution to being irresponsible should feel that shame for the rest of their lives.

The "Judeo-Christian Bible" would include the Jewish holy text, seen as the "Old Testament". Jewish law actually allows abortion, as it sees the mother as more important than the pre-baby. There are even religious freedom cases right now where Jewish groups are suing for a violation of their relgious freedom due to abortion bans.

Also didn't the Bible say something needing to take a first breath to be alive / have a soul or something?

In any case, the primary defense of abortion isn't that the fetus isn't distinct DNA. Some viruses are distinct DNA too, you wouldn't defend a virus' rights to thrive in someone's body? Same with tapeworms? Over 90% of abortions take place in the first trimester before a fetus has a working brain or a working heart. Many "heartbeat bills" actually use an electrical pulse rather than an actual beating heart - yet even so, that doesn't denote sentience or cognizance or the ability to feel pain. But at the end of the day, the argument is the mother's bodily autonomy - no one has the right to tell a person what they can and cannot do with their own body. Even dead people have more rights, and you cannot donate a dead person's organs if they didn't give explicit consent.
