The problem is that it is not backed by a promise anymore. They can't promise to back the amount they are printing.
We are heading into a world of feudalism. A world of wealthy land owner fiefdoms and their underclass of serfs who will provide the labor and energy to sustain the principalities they rule over. People are going to be made so desperate and starved of hope that they will pick sides like a sports team and pledge their loyalties. Those few who remain ungovernable will be deemed enemies of the state and eliminated
