Civilization is a collective enterprise.  It requires intense cooperation.  The kind of cooperation you can only get when it is voluntary.  

Freewill is an abstraction, it doesn't actually exist to any significant degree in nature.  Because of the amazing success of the enlightenment and the subsequent scientific and industrial revolution, determinism has become the dominant philosophical stance in the West.  Think natural philosophy. The problem can be explained by a simple algorithm.

Determinism no freewill, no freewill no human agency, no human agency no human dignity, no human dignity no morality, no morality no civilization.

We are at the last stage in that experiment.  What is difficult for people to understand is that freewill is real, it just doesn't exist in a physical space but rather abstract reality.  Abstract reality is the space that  comes to us through cultural evolution and increases group fitness.  It has in a sense transcended physical reality.  Physical reality is the environment that it evolved in but it doesn't operate under the same rules of reproductive fidelity.  Abstract reality can go terribly wrong very rapidly.  Socialism may be an example if by socialism you mean rule by experts.  The confusing part is that civilization is rule by experts because it requires hierarchies of productive competence based on meritocracy.  A kind of bottom up system where "morality" determines placement in the hierarchy.  

Determinism has meant that morality is impossible.  No freewill no responsibility.  No responsibility no freedom because of constant conflicts.  Ignoring the theological implications of morality, what it really is is responsibility.  Feminism may have started as a response to social injustices but over time it has come to represent a failure to accept responsibility.  The failure to accept responsibility means women are less free than they may otherwise have been.  They have become victims of their immutable instincts.  Among those instincts is hypergamy.  The technical definition of hypergamy is the action of marrying or forming a sexual relationship with a person of a superior sociological or educational background.  As socialism has come to be the accepted form of government, what has been called the "deep state" has evolved into what may be called rule by experts.  In practical terms it means that the feminist will "marry the state" if given the opportunity.  The state represents the protection of the highest status male from a naturalistic perspective.  The "males" or today females who are in control.  What does that have to do with freedom?

Freedom is a confusing concept.  Like freewill it doesn't exist in the physical space.  We are all bound by physical limitations.  To transcend those limitations we rely on abstract reality.  The systems of cooperation that have culturally evolved.  Morality if you want a more general concept.  When cooperation breaks down physical reality closes in.  Feminist have been operating as if physical reality was not a concern.  Many women have lost the freedom they had by cooperating with males.  They are now totally dependent on their individual productivity to deal with physical reality.  For those higher in the hierarchy due to intelligence or other characteristics it works out ok.  Especially those who are childless and have less responsibilities.  For the vast majority however it has meant a doubling of their work load to compensate for not having a reliable cooperative partner motivated by sexual access.

Feminism like Marxism is a dream of a perfect anarchy.  Ironically not that much different than the extremes of libertarianism.  One based on the idea of a gifting economy and the other on extreme individualism.  The folk wisdom of all things in moderation comes to mind.  You can actually have too much of a good thing.  Obesity being a good example.  A gluttony for freedom if you like, devoid of moral obligations.  Among those if you want your civilization to survive is the production of healthy productive offspring that is difficult to achieve without a good deal of cooperation.
