Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Who would assume they were? Marriage is a choice to accept social responsibility at whatever level you are competent at. A wise person would choose someone as high in social responsibility to marry as they can. If a man was to only consider how attractive a women is that can lead to a lot of unhappiness. If a woman only considers how affluent a man is that could be a mistake. Choosing a partner is always a gamble. What makes it particularly hard today is that the networks of relationships that support marriage have declined over time. Fidelity for women at one time was enforced not so much by men but other women. It's why people use to look for partners from stable families. Not many of those around anymore.
