And coming to terms with the existence of GOD is that first hurtle!

Does Evil exist? If so, then why doesn’t a corresponding Good exist as well?

Or are you presently of the opinion that there’s this mythical gray area between Good and Evil? In which case there must be half an Evil – half a crime as it were? In which case you are defining socialism – because socialism can only exist in a murky gray world, of ‘obfuscation’ halfway between Evil and Good. The problem arises with the realization that there is no such thing as only half Good. But Evil, on the other hand, is now, and always has been, the epitome of the well feared slippery slope idiom.

As Jesus taught, only GOD is good (not even himself), therefore GOD is the goal post of Good that we, like every living creation, can only aspire to rather than actually attain. {Mark 10:18 (below)}

While socialism will proclaim that “might makes right” – does it really?

People that loath GOD do so because they fear HIM – because power is all they recognize and fear. And socialism literally worships at the alter of attainable power as they truly believe as afore said “might makes right.”

America was founded upon the existence of GOD and HIS gift of individual free will government is obligated to protect.

I suppose that Evil can rationalize ‘law-fare’ like it does everything else in its murky gray world of ‘obfuscation(s)’-- its world in which “might makes (anything) right.”

I’d like to call attention to the fact that the second paragraph of our Declaration of Independence doesn’t say ‘our creator’ – but rather it says your right come from “their (your) creator.”

By contrast, socialism (all forms) insists that all rights come from the state rather than your GOD. So are your “unalienable” rights from Good – or are they from Evil as socialism contends?

This was interesting. The "flesh" makes no decisions as far as I can see! It cannot tell the difference between good and evil. A comparison between the two is necessary to differentiate or determine. A mind or soul is necessary to differentiate or determine. One could say the mind does that and there is no soul - as an atheist does - or you could say a soul is necessary to design communities, civilizations and such. Is "human sacrifice" good or evil? societies are all designed according to our knowledge, the time and the circumstances - and the psychology of the leaders at the time. Agreement, in a society, determines good and evil. Looks like this one is losing some of it's agreed upon standards. Probably due to it's loss of religion which is where they fundamentally stem from.
The soul gives us the ability to face or overcome adversity or the unknown. Standing up to death requires the soul. If there is nothing after death there is no reason to face any threat or evil. It's better to be subversive and stab someone in the back than face him. Your chances are better. That makes that society more dangerous. Probably more evil. It is certainly more dangerous in today's society for any one who is yet to be born. I think anyone can see with this point of view standards are slipping.

The culture war seems to be between people that believe that cultural evolution has produced better traditions than anyone could invent whole clothe from theory and people who believe that traditions are holding back the next best thing in social organization. Long before the current cultural crisis religious belief was taking a back seat to secularism. When I was kid back in the 60s I felt people were religious out of habit more than any emotional commitment to the ideas that religion had to share. The movement to atheism was just the next logical step.

There was a great deal of optimism about the future back in the 50s and 60s. Science was going to solve all our problems and we would all have flying cars by the year 2000. In the 60s the idea that we could just end war by refusing to participate was popular. Even my very conservative parents were opposed to the war in Vietnam. The idealism of the 60s would turn into materialism as that baby boom aged. Little wonder since never before in history had people enjoyed such a rapidly rising standard of living. With economic success came a kind of apathy in part based on the belief that the trend would continue forever. Apathy turned into neglect and the culture started to unravel. Today it can be seen in the deteriorating infrastructure on which economic success had been built. The baby boomers children woke up to the realization that things were not getting better. The neglect of the old religions meant that they would look elsewhere for spiritual balm. They found their new religion in the multitude of cults we see today. Diversity, Inclusion and Equality, some aspect of women's rights, the trans movement, etc. are the cults that filled the religious void. Perhaps even socialism is a kind of cult as most young people experience it or imagine it.

The hole in the soul of most people today is a loss of the sense of agency. The idea that what one believes is key to how much control they have over their existence. In the past religion provided an escape valve from the feeling that everything had been predetermined. In the words of Kansas "all we are is dust in the wind". Blown about by forces we cannot control. Religion didn't just provide a spiritual escape but it created agency out of discipline. The idea that you can do better if your spirit is willing. That your ultimate fate depends on your discipline over your lesser instincts.

Take away discipline over instincts and you take away a person's agency. You can see it in a popular idea called reciprocal altruism. The idea that instincts are basically good we just don't understand them and or they are perverted by culture. Religion has a more realistic view. The idea that human nature is at odds with the needs of civilization for a harsh but stable environment promoted by a slow lifestyle. As far as we know nature is entirely deterministic. It actually is probably not but that is another long discussion. In any case Determinism is the dominate philosophical stance today and determinism precludes morality. A simple algorithm shows how and what is wrong with that.

Determinism no freewill, no freewill no human agency, no human agency no human dignity, no human dignity no morality, no morality no civilization.

From time to time throughout history determinism has been the dominate philosophical stance. You can see it in the divine rights of kings or the Nazi idea of a master race. Those are usually not good times and we are headed there at a rapid pace. It all comes down to agency and responsibility. Both are increasingly rare today.
