U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned on Tuesday, July 23rd, following the backlash over the service’s failure to prevent the assassination attempt on Donald Trump last weekend. “I take full responsibility for the security lapse. In light of recent events, it is with a heavy heart that I have made the difficult decision to step down as your director,” she said in an email to staff, obtained by AP.

The media and P.R. groups change the narrative so often that we still do not have the full story .
Did the agent seriously refuse to work with police or did the police have a vendetta against secret service ? Why are police being forced to perform traffic control anyway ? Could they not afford any pinkerton valets to set up barricades ?

These are great points to raise.
It is not fair .
They get rushed and micromanaged to the point that they are reduced to mere fall guys when things go wrong .
I hope that these secret service agents can get hired some place where they can be appreciated .
There are only so many contingency plans you can juggle under such short notice before something slips through the cracks .

My job hiring site gives a test. The test is Fermi calculation. Back of the envelope calculation. Order of magnitude calculation. It's pro-merit. Physics merit wins.

I work at a place that has no screening process.
I was projecting because I am a unemployable security guard who was recently demoted for being dumber than this blind sighted pencil pusher . The difference is that I was forbidden from testing the illiterate dim-wits I trained and a paper trail was also forbidden. My hands were figuratively tied.
Which only led to them getting arrested when they would do the exact opposite of what I would tell them . I am not sure if it is spite or idiocy but they enjoyed looking for a excuse to pin this on me when they were at their worst .
Meritocracy vs. anti meritocracy.
Hilarious how they work hard to stamp out any merit.
The way to win is to construct a test that rewards merit. Fiercely objective. Dare them to take your test. Then you take the test yourself and crush it. Let those that failed watch you win. Shock and awe.
It's all about the test. How would you design a test? Cool tests are the way forward.
