Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I must admit that I still know little about the Evergreen incident. Can someone give me an outline of the events? I have a vague understanding, but I never looked it up and I don't remember hearing about it as a current event. I do intend to look deeper into it, but in the interest of conversation, may I ask this at risk of being skewered for my ignorance?

Here's a brief as I know how, sorry in advance, not very good at it.

Evergreen College had an annual Day of absence: essentially it was that people of color would not attend that day and instead attend diversity classes, as a way of protesting what we have come to know as systemic system biases.

In 2017, the students decided, that instead of people of color voluntarily leaving the campus for the day, they instead demanded that white people leave the campus.

Brett sent emails to the faculty to advise them, that he would not be co-operating as he believed that volunteering to leave by POC (as had been tradition) and demanding that people being told to leave based on skin color was unacceptable.

Somehow, activist students and probably the teacher Naimi (I think that's how it's spelled), got a hold of these emails and decided to protest and demand that Brett be kicked out of Evergreen for being a racist.

The protest went from being a protest to holding faculty members hostage, driving away the police called to investigate and using their "Allies" (white students) as their tools to implement all of this, while remaining physically in the background, but giving out orders. Including, but not limited to, having the Allies bring them, the students of color, snacks and chairs and guarding of barricade's.
Even though the students of color didn't physically do any blocking or physical aggression, their voices were very loud in their commands of what needed to be done. -
Brett being the decent guy he was, tried to reason with them over the course of a few days, but nothing beyond total submission was acceptable.
7, The new President of the College, Bridges did nothing to stop any of this, he in fact encouraged it due to his inaction.

This landmark podcast is even more earth shattering than the Evergreen story, but in the process you discover the essence of Brett's personality that precludes him from overtly defending himself. This drives Eric nuts, but it is just the way he is. Stay with this podcast as it struggles to get started. The pay off is mind blowing. It is my theory that the story on this recording is the reason for the actions taken to drive him from his job. Just as I believe Jordan Peterson's job was threatened because of his beliefs and what he teaches more so than the issue that was created as the vehicle for his persecution. That is my humble opinion, anyway.

It wouldn't load for me. Is it the one where we find out, because of Eric's interviewing his brother, that Brett is in fact a brilliant biologist who had a vital discovery stolen and republished by the person, he sent it to for review (Carol something) ?
