there only being options for yen stock rising, and dollar to yen conversion symbols is what I find odd..
@DesireNoDesires Maybe because emoji is a Japanese thing? I also notice that yen is always converted into US dollar in the Japanese stock and share market more than into any currency like British pound.

@DesireNoDesires Mind you, when they were invented as "emoticons", they were just innocent symbols for mobile phones, but like anything else, they became politicised, if you call that, several years ago - they now include symbols like same-sex couples, people of colour, that sort of things. Or, you could just say that those symbols simply reflect the modern social fabric.
But then, while no one questions about Christian-related symbols like Santa, angel, bride, etc. should we be concerned if Buddhist monk or Russian Orthodox bishop is included (Chinese and Russian flags are already included BTW)? We could go down the road of conspiracy theories. No thanks.

Yet when it comes to emojis for different forms of currency, and the symbol for the yen being so similar to that of the yuan...you could imagine how one could easily become suspicious, being with the current relationship with Chinese government and the rest of the world

I mean all those symbols look different enough not to confuse one with another - perhaps if you look at them carefully enough.

is it just a theory that we're in the middle of a technological revolution...and global powers are fighting over who comes out with the upper-hand in the end. Being that whomever does, has global control as we transition into a completely digital age?
Not gonna be long before all those symbols become just one, ya know?
