I don't know if I can say its been bloodless, I can think of lots of atrocities with casualties.

Everything is relative. A shooting civil war would be really bad.

I actually tried to figure out a way to find out how "bloodless" it was. A lot of lives have been unnecessarily destroyed but the lock downs for example but how many have died is hard to tell. I have seen numbers that suggest over a hundred thousand excess death have resulted indirectly from the lock downs. There must be many other deaths associated with the social transformation from things like drug overdoses but they are hard to measure.

@wolfhnd Civil wars in general historically are the most deadly to all, especially the innocent non-combatants. It is hard to say on the lockdowns, depression, sedentary overeating, ect.

I've known of people that have literally drank themselves to death.

@Lightman I think you're missing the point. Corruption is different to having a different opinion. And the thrust of the meme seems, to me, to be the fact that an authoritarian assault on the constitutional rights of US citizens is propelling their country towards civil war.
I doubt anybody but a troll would suggest that corrupt politicians would actually be hanged in the public square. It's like citing the metaphor of the crowd of angry villagers bearing pitchforks and flaming torches.

The corruption in the Democratic party is a cancer. Joe Biden is a life long influence peddling politician and that has corrupted his son and the Media, and the society it touches. It starts with one little thing and metastasizes like any other cancer. Little lies become big lies. Hillary lies about her Russian connections, her server, and was only discovered because of her lies about Benghazi. Those lies become through deflection what ended in a fake Trump-Russia impeachment and by extension the corruption of the FBI. Now congress is corrupted by one small Clinton lie perhaps for decades.

The lie in relationship to gun control started with the Supreme Court who didn't want to deal with blacks having guns. That little lie has become an issue that has divided the country. That is how corruption spreads from what at the time seemed the wise choice, a little white lie to keep the civil war from continuing as a race war.

The only way is term limits. People vote on superficial things such as name recognition. Even knowledgeable people will vote for corrupt politicians for the crumbs. The congressional system is setup on seniority and that effects what they can deliver. Nobody wants to give up on a Congress Person who is chair on a committee that sends money back to their state. I say that as someone who hates the idea of term limits because it is anti meritocratic.

Additionally if the Democrats get there way and add states, do away with the electoral college, and end the filibuster it's game over. They will control the country the way they do California. That could actually lead to civil war. They are playing with fire but they think because they have the elites behind them they are safe. The fences and national guard in D.C. may mostly be a propaganda stunt now but they know that if they get what they are planning they may actually need them.

I'm actually a bit surprised the military and intelligence community is on their side. Most of the bureaucrats are just looking out for themselves. They know that if conservatives get their way the entire government will be downsized. But conservatives have always supported law enforcement and the military. It must be their retirement perks in corporations they are worried about. The hippy dippy generation was the end of America. Hedonism is incompatible with Democracy. Despite the love and peace narrative the 60s generations was me, me, me. They were just too easy to buy off. Once you didn't have the religious narrative the socialist nightmare was just around the corner.

He is probably not the first corrupt president, Nixon was never charged and Kennedy was exposed to blackmail by bedding virgins in the Whitehouse. History is never transparent, people take their secrets to their death beds.

I'm starting to feel that what has really changed is not the level of corruption but the decline in competence throughout government and even the private sector. Instead of Caesars we are getting Neros. We on the 5th generation of imperialism.
