I agree that the government is run by people. I also believe the policies of the few that are in a position of authority to make the decision to use fear mongering to grab more power and martial the resources “we the people” have made available to them represent the government. It is the responsibility of the executive branch to wield the power of the government within its limited scope.
The constitution bars them from exceeding their authority, but they have found a way of getting around the constitution using propaganda, fear and censorship of truth. They have also placed this power into the hands of unelected individuals who determine (Not just advise) not only our response to a virus (small threat) but have also demanded the power to marshal all the power of the government. They have in effect, become the dictator of the country. The constitution (of the country, state or local government) takes a backseat to them. It is, for all intents and purposes, a coup. They have become or are becoming, the government. For that reason, I said “the government”.

there is still a spark of life (I’m in Florida and South Dakota is holding on to freedom too). Freedom has certainly suffered a devastating blow though. I don’t believe God has completely turned us over.

Good question. Since the article was posted in the American Thinker, it was mostly pointing a finger at the American government (mostly Federal, but many state and even local governments have chosen to grab power using the fear mongering tactics). That being said, most governments around the world have followed our lead (even while condemning us). Many have done this as a matter of reflex/habit, but there is a force behind this that has been seeking a One-World government (much easier to control one government than many) for many decades. Strong democracies (like the US used to be) were a difficult obstacle to overcome in this effort, but they are closer than ever to the intermediate step (all socialist/communist/dictatorial governments) toward that goal.

The fact that the powers to be want it to become a Democracy would make it easier to convert to a socialist, then communist, then dictatorship!!!!
Dictatorship is the end goal!!!!!!
@Serg97 of course you’re correct. I misspoke when I called it a democracy. It was absolutely set up by our forefathers as a democratic republic. Thanks for correcting me.
