I was born and raised in London. What John Cleese said is completely true. The culture of London is no longer English. Over the course of the last 20-30 years it has changed dramatically. John Cleese's statement had nothing to do with race, and everything to do with culture.

@Trader So did I. It's really a strange feeling isn't it? Knowing that Old London - the one that shaped us is no longer there. Even my children will never witness or have a proper understanding of what life was like growing up there and that's sad. It had such a full character and was so uniquely and colourfully British. The recent immigrants may call themselves such, but that's no longer what it reads on the passports, it used to say British, now its something like United Kingdom, Northern Ireland and EU.
Once the Queen passes and that air of the Royal is buried along with her, think they can just stick a fork in London, it will be done. Just a facade and cheap touristy gimmick, with Hollywood residing in Buckingham Palace. But I do take solace in the truth, that the invaders can call themselves Londoners, but all they got was some fake souvenir's.
They will never be part of its true history, because that is gone and will never be but a shadow of what it once was. Thanks EU....Go Brexit!
