LaRouche had some crazy conspiracy theories, many of them antisemitic, and yes they involved the Queen. That seems to play into their opposition to climate activism. [larouchepac.com] I mean sure, climate change can be used to advocate population control, but not necessarily, and it probably isn't a plot by the Queen.

I remember them protesting Obama and George W Bush outside my university, with signs showing the Presidents with Hitler mustaches and yelling over bullhorns that the Jews did 9/11.

I like this story of LaRouche's life [jacobinmag.com] but I'm sure other sources including his Wikipedia page [en.wikipedia.org] give a good synopsis as well.

so? the whole climate change narrative is a cult itself. who cares if the LaRousche organization was "behind" this stunt. It was hilarious to see the shocked look on AOC and the idiots in her audience. Since the left loves and created the climate change cult, loves abortion, and now one of their own "scientists" has suggested that cannibalism would be an efficient way to fight "climate change" by reducing CO2 (lol!) this little stunt addressed all of those things in about one minute - ...there is too much CO2! we must eat the babies! we must eat the babies!!! LOL!!!! so funny - so cool - so pissed of is little Ricky Wiles and the rest of the "socialism is wonderful, climate change, abortion is humane, brigade...loved every second of it...hope there will be more stunts like this.

@iThink "Idiots in the audience"? That was just a subset of her constituents who showed up to her town hall, not some "followers" or activists. Where do you get off calling them "idiots?" For all you know, they could share your position on the issue of climate change. Your bias is showing.

@iThink That "shocked look" is exactly the look one gets when they are confronted with someone going off the rails, who may be a risk to themselves and everyone around them.

@iThink Who exactly is "shutting down" comedians? I enjoyed seeing Dave Chapelle a few years ago, thank you very much, though it does does sound like his new jokes aren't fully baked, therefore seeming more malicious than part of a thoughtful comedic arc. It's kind of similar to the state the jokes I did see were in a year or so before when I saw him emcee a concert. Regardless, I believe in giving comedians a lot of leeway (my exception would be for comedians like Carlos Mencia who in his time basically just existed to give unsophisticated young white people an excuse to be racist). But again, I do not think you all know why you think this LaRouche's stunt is funny.

eat the babies in the literal sense would not be funny - at all...but to use that phraseology to mock the "climate change" hoaxters and the "cannibalism would be plausible way to reduce CO2 "scientist" is very funny - turns their own ideas around and shows them for the stupidity and just plain weirdness of their new religion - ie "climate change"

@iThink I generally like Mel Brooks, but I watched The Producers a couple decades ago and didn't find it funny. Not sure if I got all the way through to the "springtime for Hitler" part. Perhaps I should give it another chance.

I do not see humor of Kathy Griffith's severed Trump head, but I don't necessarily disapprove of it. I do think that it is probably more politically harmful that it is incisive.

Here's the problem: it was the scientist's joke, not the LaRouchie's. And the right is laughing at the LaRouchie (while simultaneously taking her literally as a constituent) and taking the scientist literally (and representative of all climate change activists).

lighten up Ricky - even I chuckle when that tool Alec Baldwin does his mocking humor schtick of Trump...well, I'm not exactly a Trump fan in the first place but ...hey...sometimes its ok to just go with the joke
