Farage isn’t running in Canada.

@WilyRickWiles are you kidding? The largely imaginary Russian meddling was investigated for more than two years, and was the pretext for the Meuller fiasco.
@GeeMac You're taking issue with a free tweet from a former President. Trump campaigned with Nigel Farage. There were no controversy about the latter, which is certainly more significant than a tweet.
What there WAS controversy about was:
- The real Russian social media propaganda campaign, which led to indictments
- Whether Trump had a connection to #1. No definitive proof turned up, but the efforts of his campaign and those of his close backers Robert and Rebekah Mercer through the British company Cambridge Analytica were very similar. Unfortunately, the UK ended its investigation when they closed up shop and the US settled with Facebook which was implicated.
- Paul Manafort's corrupt dealings with foreign figures linked to Russia, which sent him to jail
- Michael Flynn's corrupt dealing with foreign figures, which sent him to jail
- Michael Cohen's hush money payments on behalf of Trump and lying under oath about Trump's Russian business interests
- George Papadopoulos's false statements to the FBI about Russian contacts
- Obstruction of the Mueller probe
@WilyRickWiles it’s still interfering in a Canadian election. Something no sitting or former American President has done since 1911. Obama is butting into a very tight race in the closing days of the campaign, and he has no business getting involved in Canadian politics.
Trump’s campaigning with Farage is no better, but different election, different conversation.
@GeeMac I mean it's not great that he's endorsing, but it's not quite of the same scale as what was alleged in the Mueller probe, and he's not a sitting President anymore. Moreover, Twitter has only been around for so long. Trump on the other hand has endorsed foreign candidates as a sitting President, for example Marine Le Pen.
