Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Well, I'm white so I can't have an opinion or say in the matter. Any input from me or another white is automatically invalid. (sounds like "racism" to me).
But Martin Luther King Jr. and his niece Alveda King are both black and they have said something that racists also don't like to hear (and will refuse to read, I'm sure). That is that "there is only one race: Human" and there are different ethnicities within the human race.
"Science" has been wrong on a few other things in the present and past (you name them for yourselves). Racists wants to hold to the race delusion as mentioned in the above very good article and Alveda King's article below. Racism divides by focusing on our differences instead of what we have in common.
Let go of race and embrace every person being distant relatives having descended from common ancestors. That's not denying reality or science, it's embracing truth that is also unifying.

Yes, I saw this one drop theory played out in the true story and movie The Free State of Jones with Matthew McConaughey (may have been in special features). In the racist south of the early/mid 20th century(?), a male decendant of Newton Knight was put on trial and forced to divorce his white wife because he was a decendant of Newton Knight's wife, Serena, who had been a slave until the end of the civil war. Newton was one of thousands of confederate deserters who didn't believe in slavery and didn't want to fight for the wealthy white land and slave owners' right to own blacks. The reconstruction south outlawed mixed marriage and used the one drop theory which the Democrats actually got from the NAZIs. That is factual history. You need to watch the movie if you haven't already. And be sure to see the DVD's special features.

The movie is all about the civil war and afterward in Jones County, Mississippi. Newton Knight basically formed an army to protect those who were abused by the confederacy.
The marriage and divorce trial of Newt & Serena's decendant and the white woman is a small part of the movie (and/or in the special features). Just so I didn't mislead you.
But the story seems to be intentional hidden by those who are guilty of a racist past and/or who would not want that history to be known about the southern Democrats. Newt's decendants want the truth to come out. Thus the movie and such.
Interesting article... it claims races does not exist and then it goes and show and confirm that races do exist.
I am pretty anti-racism however to claim that there are not different groups of people or races as such is racist in itself. It is part of what makes humans so interesting.
Differentiation into the race is the first small step in the long journey of speciation. Humans were probably the first specie to successfully stop that from happening with our developed abilities for everyone to travel everywhere and therefor we are stopping this environment induced differentiation.
The different races is something to be celebrated and appreciated... just as culture.

@Tdonald there is a big difference between race and species... that is the whole point you are missing.
My racial physical attributes are already on a list... Created by the very people who claim race does not exist.
You confuse race with racism. One is a biological adaptation significant enough to be observable and have a significant effect on survival in natural habitats.
The other is human response to the difference between people that are actually cultural constructs and not so much genetic effects.
Claiming that there is no race will not stop discrimination... the left showed us this all through the 20th century.
So not only is it wrong, it is futile.
@Tdonald why do you seem to have difficulty recognizing the obvious? Race is not a socialized construct - it is biological fact.
You seem to think that racial tolerance (or absence of racism) cannot be possible unless we deny the biological facts of race in the field of anthropology. Why is that? What makes you think we can't have both at the same time? For you to deny the physical attributes of any particular race seems to make YOU the racist.
Go look up the following: "soft bigotry of low expectations" - do some reading. do some thinking. Get real.

@Tdonald no you don’t... it is like some climate change believer saying they have science on their side because some scientist with biased objective only discuss one part of the equation.
The genetic variation among Africans are large, however the it is much further apart from the variation among Polynesians... all Chinese genetics are closer to each other than any Indian.
To claim that the genetic difference between the races is as big as the difference inside each race is nonsense and easily disproved.
@Tdonald yeah, Racism is real, so is classism and culturism... does not mean classes and cultures don’t exist. Although it is the long term left dream that neither of them should.
Of course you have genetic extremes in all populations: Dawn syndrome Indians and Chinese have more in common than they have with their own races, however, the different genetics between races are evolutionary driven and important to them in their original habitats.
@Tdonald white skin is a genetic adaptation so that what white peoples create more vitamin D compared to dark skinned. Ask doctors in Finland and Sweden about the issues immigrants face there. It is a gene that does that.
Ditto long noses and hair of Europeans vs Africans. Genes are responsible.
Populations living in mountains has a gene that allows gives them more hemoglobin in their blood.
The list is very long ... just because you are ignorant does not mean it is not true.

You cannot blame the sun for skin cancer. The sun exist whether you wear suntan lotion or not. Race exist whether you are racist or not.
@Hanno @Tdonald To think that evolution stopped at the brain while adapting every other part of an organism's physiology is an exercise in mental gymnastics that makes a mockery out of science and human understanding. Racial personality types, intelligence, penchant for criminality, courage or cowardice, creativity, etc. All of this is to a great degree embedded in our personal and population genetics. It is time we start acting like adults.
Isn't race analogous to breeds of dogs? If so, how does it not exist? Anthropologists can tell the race of a skeleton or a disembodied brain (the convolutions, mass, etc). Different drugs affect different races differently. Drug makers understand this easily. We have to stop being so politically correct. It is shutting down our brains and our ability to reason. Saying there are differences in the races is not a big deal. We all need to grow up.

Scientifically speaking, race DOES exist. There are groups of people who have more similar genetics within a population than they do to other groups of people.
If you're interested, look into genomic sequencing.
You can banter about how to define race. You can talk about what race matters. You can call it whatever you want.
There are genetically distinct populations of humans. Many would call that race. In science, we always laughed at the politically defined races when we had to report to the federal government, true. Politicians have no clue.
What, if anything, it matters outside of medicine or biology? That's fully up for debate.

Therefore, trucks and cars are so similar that the categories are insignificant. That's insane. Why are you trying so hard to deny reality? Are you afraid of being called a racist?
