but I now view the human race as possibility slightly less gullible than I thought.
I put out a post on Facebook asking Labour supporters in gentle terms whether they they thought Labour needed to change and despite the biggest wipeout since the 1930s of Labour at an election, their supporters are largely in denial citing press bias (
) and the Brexit factor (Labour have blocked Brexit at every opportunity for 3 years) as the reasons for their defeat. There is no apparent acceptance that their left wing policies played a part.
The problem now for Labour is that they have purged their party of moderates and have to pick a new leader from a selection all of whom are just as left wing as as Corbyn. So no real change there is on the cards.
We now have a Conservative government with such a huge majority that they can implement pretty much anything they decide. Let’s hope they decide wisely.
