I like the idea of herd immunity (we have to get there at some point or wait for immunization), but the Italy and Spain overload must be avoided. Looking at the log curves it seems that the curve between UK and US match which to me seems to say that the time lag between countries is probably the same. [coronavirus.jhu.edu]

The problem is that news has become psychological warfare, not sources of information.
The ones running most of it share your hopes and fears and perceive things similarly.
You find yourself in a negative feedback loop of confirmation bias without real evidence, only perceived danger.
The solution is to have those with your sensibilities in power that can be trusted.
That doesn't exist, only the people who know how to speak to your mindset but serve themselves.
It's a real problem.
I'm off the charts left, but recognize that the conservative influence is needed to balance.
