The fact that it is a Black man positing the rhetorical question makes it interesting. White people generally speaking will want to hear him say the obviously correct answer is NO. Racism itself is non exclusive.
Black people will be uneasy waiting to hear if this Black man is going to tell them the answer is NO. NO - racism is NOT exclusive to Whites.
So, the question itself is not preposterous; it can not be so for as long as there are large swaths of the population who operate on the false premise that only Whites can be racist.
That thought - that premise itself - is what is undeniably preposterous. Sometimes it is necessary to state that which is obvious because there are far too many people who willfully ignore the truth - the obvious truth. It becomes necessary to call out the big lie - and the liars themselves. Otherwise we become tacit participants in the perpetuation of a profound falsehood. We become part and parcel of The Big Lie.
