In the mid eighties I got over that.
I realized that some females are “ladies” and some are not.
I reserve reacting as a “Gentleman” for a “Lady”.
At least ... when I have enough time to think about it.
Much of what I do is ingrained reflex so its simply automatic.
I have, however gotten better at looking at a female and deciding whether they are a “Lady” or not.
I’ve struck 4 women 4 times (3 slaps and 1 punch to the side of the head) in 50+ years ... they deserved it, I’ve never regretted it.
Also, though I’ve never been in the situation, I’ve seen situations where females have deliberately provoked ... and received ... a beating.

Same here, I was indoctrinated to believe women were somehow morally superior.
I still believe you should never hit a lady, anyone, unprovoked, but once the lady/gent contract, or indeed the gent/gent contact is broken, well, the gloves are, quite literally, off.

I don’t know about “morally superior” ... to me, women are a precious and protected resource in that, for tens of thousands of years, they literally are the “Mother” ... the Wellspring ... of Our Future as a Species.
Or, for those who are more specific, the Continuation of One’s Genetic Material (which may be a more important aspect)
Technology I guess has changed alot of that but ... to date ... I’ve seen no tech that can successfully replace a woman’s ability to bring forth “new life”.
Nah, I'm not buying the 'Earth mother' BS either, it's all part of the same indoctrination.

Well, I’m not trying to play the “earth mother” song and dance routine but ... historically ... like in all of known history ... and over several different species ... females are physically “protected” by males.
Further, if you really look at it, “civilization” is mostly all the fault of females because (this is a short and humorous example) if it were left to males, we’d still be fighting over who got to live under which rock ... seriously ...
I think much of civilization is due to females nagging males to provide food, shelter and comfort to them ... to their “cubs”.
