So Google ... GOOGLE of all “arbiters” ... who has probably been deliberately smothering IDW as a searchable item ... shows a downward trending line. Are you really going to use a source as biased as Google to make decisions? I still see new people popping up pretty regularly ... that seems to negate that trend line. I HAVE seen some idjits and non-thinkers stumble in here and, after floundering around for a bit and not finding THEIR flavor of Cheerleaders ... not finding THEIR preferred type of creatures (sheep) they seem to stumble back out. OR I get bored with their mindless crap and simply “Block” them permanently (to my mind, they have simply “gone away” ... so far my count is 3 ... which, overall, is a pretty good comment on the value of the minds found here.

Merry Christmas. Not that I’m particularly religious, not that I think “Merry” is particularly the right word. To me, Christmas is based on the Christian Celebration of the birth of Jesus but, in many ways, it is more a real life version of the Nativity Scene... People, Friends, Family from all over, from completely diverse lifestyles and backgrounds, for a moment every year, put aside their quarrels, “sheath their swords”, leave go their animosity and gather together in near harmony. Even as a child ... and through the years ... I thought that the best Christmas Trees were the ones that displayed mostly personal ornaments ... made by children who were now often adults ... one of my favorites remains an oaktag Santa colored in crayon with bits of cotton batting glued on as fur trim and beard with movable arms and legs that my 80+ Mom made in elementary school ... my other favorites are all the ones presented solemnly over the years as personal treasures to people “for your tree” ... as a child we took turns selecting our favorite ornaments and placing them “just so” on the tree sometimes explaining why amid quiet banter as others awaited their turn and quietly hoped that another didn’t choose that particular ornament. These days Christmas Trees come out of boxes and lights are strung on them and tinsel is no longer used because it would look lousy next year and the room explodes in presents as each tries to outdo the other with stuff grabbed up in a rush at one huge store or another ... or ordered online ... or ... There’s less of it now, but there’s still a solid echo of the harmony remaining ... The one thing I really miss is the Christmas Tree sitting outside in the snow after the festivities are over decorated in stale doughnuts, cookies, bits of bread and stuff “for the birds and little creatures” with its popcorn garland and bits of tinsel fluttering about in the wind. I’m not really sure what stopped that tradition ... artificial trees or interested bears ... Merry Christmas! May Yours be Harmonious and Bright.

Intellectual Dark Web is intriguingly anonymous and yet descriptive ... enough to get a person of a certain mindset to look but not a beacon to morons and idiots. I like IDW just fine. If you try to incorporate your “guiding goal” into the name, it will attract every nutjob out there that’s bored with Facebook and other forums that they’ve overwhelmed and wrecked.

Further, it was not made clear that the guy was aware of the age of the person ... Further, regardless of any other aspect, 16 is still largely considered “the Age of Consent” even though there are many who “like” to consider someone as old as 26 “still a child”.

How many times through history has this phrase been written? “The problem is that under the increasingly paranoid regime of XYZ, even these internal reports have become much more geared toward what the leadership wants to hear,” How many “Leaders’” have been deceived by such action? Dozens, Hundreds of Empires, Kingdoms and Nations have fallen due to this. When a Leader’s advisors and information sources aren’t speaking reality, there’s a major problem. Unfortunately, I expect that the Red Chinese government is going to react with increased hostility ... with sporadic spasms ... though, I expect, it will be primarily Against it’s own people and weaker opponents. Like Reagan, Trump is winning this War mostly on the economic front ... by exposing China’s underbelly to even its own citizens. Personally, I think that Trump is doing it better and at less cost than Reagan managed. I think a serious truth here however is that the “Pure Socialism” that is represented by Communism, likely only has about an 80 to 100 year lifespan. It seems like perhaps it takes two long generations for the insane fervor to burn out and people to regain their sanity ... regain the desire to retain the profit of their own labor. China did well as a totally closed nation in keeping its people in line but, once they joined the WTO and their people began to see the outside world ... and it’s Goods, it was simply a matter of time.

Well, I think it is an interesting idea ... perhaps even a “great” idea ... I think I have an awful lot of questions that need answers though ... Like, when the surface begins to break down, how easily is it repaired? If large pieces break off, what happens to them? Can they be remade into new surface? In the future, if a road is discontinued or rerouted, what happens to these massive, large slabs of plastic? How well does this surface stand up to incidental petroleum “spills”? given that petroleum products typically melts plastic... That’s simply a start ... It may very well be good but it seems perhaps a little shortsighted. The footage shown looked like the plastic was being combined with an aggregate ... I would also wonder about how good an idea that is.

Lost in this sad story ... and it is truly sad ... is the following; “With his mother dead, Dorsen lives with his father in the bush and the two have to work daily in the cobalt mine to earn money for food.” So, by inference, were this work NOT available, regardless of how horrific it might be, they would simply starve to death. Perhaps it is not much of a choice, but it IS a choice. Then there is the minor factoid that the “Congo” was originally the “Belgian Congo”. If you think these peoples’ lives are horrific now, you should spend some time investigating the history of the “Belgian Congo”. Since the Belgians were overthrown, the Government has been a continuous and unbroken stream of Black African dictators and despots who have done nothing to make things better. It seems that whenever the Dictator of the moment isn’t destroying the people, they themselves turn to killing each other. How do people live like this? I don’t know. WHY do people bring children into “this world”? I don’t know ... actually I do but the reasons are many and the answer is long.

I was good with the article ... not completely in agreement but ... however, the last sentence highlighted much of what I tend not like about a lot of the writing in Free Beacon (though I frequently read it as well). The article/writer generally has distain for the work that President Trump has done/is doing. A couple years ago there was generally a feeling that China was likely to be a very dangerous foe. The US Citizenry seemed to feel that China was almost invulnerable on many fronts. Trump’s “Trade War” has opened them up, undermined the solidarity among their people, and exposed their vulnerabilities to the World and a large part of the Chinese Citizenry. Trump’s “Trade War” has thrown a couple large monkey wrenches into several aspects of China’s “Program”. To have managed to do this despite all the crap he’s taking here at home is actually stunning. This is truly a war and it is being well prosecuted without a single drop of blood being spilled. It seems the Dragon is more vulnerable than it seemed or was imagined. How much of a push is required to knock it over? Do we actually want to do this? Trump’s methods are unfamiliar but they are proving to be pretty effective.

This is odd ... I wrote a response and posted it ... and it disappeared ...? So again I try to address this ... This guy speaks to a few people (3 ... apparently urban) to get a “feel” for what the people living in the USSR “felt” about the experience. All three seemed to be “fine” or wax nostalgic about the time ... especially as compared to now. These people were born and grew up in the System. They’ve actually no experience to counterbalance the World in which they grew up ... no way of judging the “good” or “bad” aspects. Given their ages, their early lives would’ve had no knowledge of life under Czarism as that was assuredly not taught though they may have had tales from their elders. Their first real experience would have likely been heavily tainted by the World War ... or its recent ending. Their education would have been heavily propagandized and carefully censored. Their adult lives would have been required to fit carefully into the mold of a “Party Member”. The 1990’s would have likely been their first real encounter with “outside” influences and been highly traumatic as the entire World as they knew it simply imploded as the Government simply disappeared ... failed. Not only were the 1990’s traumatic, the problems haven’t been fully solved. The adjustment period is still happening. These people are in their 60s to 80s ... they have little experience outside of the Soviet one ... they have lived structured lives bracketed by two highly traumatic periods. Although it is not really an equal example, I would think that were you to ask someone who recently moved to Upstate New York after having lived 60+ years in the Arctic, they would probably wax nostalgic about having lived on the verge of freezing to death while complaining about the fact they spend so much time sweating now. Part of the problem people have is that they are so constrained by their experiences and have so few alternate experiences to use in comparing things that they tend to “be happy” ... “be comfortable” with whatever they are accustomed to and be fearful or “uncomfortable” with anything strange or unusual to them.

Metro NYC as a Night Emergency Locksmith when I was younger is a case in point. 3AM, dark building, elevator light out, bad neighborhood. I am one who would answer both questions firmly; “No!” Especially in the areas of “Social Funding”. On “bailing out businesses” or “subsidizing of farms” the question is a bit more murky. I don’t believe that we should be “Bailing Out Businesses” but ... I believe that we should be willing to help them with loans and assistance as needed ... provided that there is an actual system where we get paid back ... like any loan though with perhaps more generous terms than available in the banking industry. The loans should be considered carefully as to merit and likelihood of being paid back like any other type of loan. After all, the Government “borrows” from the Public regularly in the form of “Bonds” so it seems that there should be, in fact some sort of “Quid Pro Quo” ... In terms of Research and Development for new materials, new inventions, new ... I think the Government should be involved in helping to finance these things with the caveat that some percentage of the “New” item’s profits be due to the Government once the item hits the market for a specified period of time ... I am okay with the subsidies that were given the farmers out of the Tariffs to defray the investment loss due to these moves. I am okay with assistance due to floods and “catastrophes” as well. I am not okay with subsidies “not to grow” or just for the heck of it ... However, I would note, that my prime criteria is that many of these loans or subsidies should be required to be mainly beneficial to the People and the Nation as a whole ... As to the secular assault on Our Moral (Religious) Institutions ... I often feel hypocritical talking about this as I am neither “religious” or “faith oriented” but ... I was brought up a Catholic and all my “morality” was instilled in me as a child. I know no system outside of an upbringing in a system of “religion” that engrains... instills the concept of “Right vs Wrong” ... Basic Civility ... better. I have quietly protested the removal of such things as the Ten Commandments, discussion of religion in schools, crosses (crucifixes), and similar ... including the secularization of Sunday. I always thought it was a bad idea even when I came to adulthood and decided to find my own way ... I never saw Our Religious Backbone as being a negative influence. I believe that Barr was absolutely correct ... I just don’t see a way to get the Nation, the People to “turn back” to Faith and Religion. I support whatever means are reasonably required to get that type of upbringing back into Society ... after all, most religion is simply 6000+ years of assembled Rules for Social Continuity ... I have a couple uncles that fought in WWII (Europe & Africa). In a very gregarious and large family we NEVER heard about their experiences. Shortly before one of them passed away, his children, now adults with children of their own, found an old box and, upon opening it, found it crammed full with medals, awards and citations for the things he had done. His kids pressed him for an explanation for them and he agreed to talk about it ... once ... He spoke for hours. (They recorded it on video ... I’m not sure he was aware of that) Picking up one item after another and telling it’s story. It was a long list of personal tragedies ... of lost friends, of things he did because he felt he had no choice, of things done to try to end the damn war sooner so less of his friends would die. His final comment, in a sad wispy voice, while closing the box and pushing it away was that “There is nothing Glorious about War. It should not be Glorified. I would gladly have traded that entire box of junk for the life of One Single Friend if I could have.” I only ever knew him as a quiet talking, rather unassuming, proud family man. I too grew up “playing army”. I too enlisted. I never saw anything like the things he described.

I think perhaps it should be held in one of those areas in Commiefornication (aka California) that is currently without power for the foreseeable future ... though San FranShitCo would work too ... In truth, Trump’s resort would have been a pretty good location if you stop to think about it. Since the President spends much of his time there, the security aspects are pretty strong (we’ve already paid for it), the location is great, the facilities are actually “World Recognized”, the municipality is already pretty inured to the disruptions and security requirements. This was ... once again ... a tempest in a teapot ... by the DemLeft and their “Fellow Travelers”. If it had been a location owned by a DemLeft I doubt there would have been any comment ... though I’m not sure there’s a single DemLeft that OWNS such an establishment (too much actual work, they prefer to STEAL money not MAKE it). I honestly think that President Trump has nothing to worry about in terms of impeachment or re-election. There are many forces that are piling up against him but ... they are not mutually supportive of each other. I would’ve thought that the Swamp Critters, Deep State ... and several others would’ve dug themselves a foxhole and hunkered down and waited out the 8 years ... instead, they’re abandoning their hiding places, crawling out from under their rocks, and exposing themselves to the harsh light of the public gaze. Okay ... so, I lived in NYC (Manhattan, Queens & Brooklyn) for 27 years but left in ‘04 (NYC to people who live there is only Manhattan). Most of such Rules and Laws are pretty loosely applied ... and then are applied according to your Political or Social Standing ... which is pretty arbitrary. However, the Liberals and Left (Democrats mainly) had made huge strides in ruining the Business and Life situation by the time I left mostly through what is now called “Virtue Signaling”. “Hate Crime” had become a new “add-on” to cases ... so if a fight or even angry argument wound up using “racial terms”, that could be added on to say an assault charge. Specifically, if you are white and male, you could be called almost anything and that was okay but if a white or male called anybody else anything else it could a chargeable offense. Housing Laws had been created that building owners ... even private home owners renting out their basement apartment ... could be accused / charged with discrimination. Businesses were forced into situations where they “had” to honestly consider even the most unlikely, unsuitable candidates for an open position. However, several “Laws” were passed that stopped cigarette smoking almost everywhere, limited the size of a soda or sugar based drink ... and many similar ... while suddenly seeming to promote the more extreme displays of what was previously considered social and sexual deviance ... These things are applied rather unevenly and usually according to a person’s or group’s “agenda” most New Yorkers simply try to ignore it all. However, since Dave Dinkins was mayor of Manhattan ... followed by Bloomberg and this new moron ... the State Government has also gotten pretty far Left, Liberal ... “DummyCrat” as well.
