If a guy pulled that shit with other guys, he’d get his ass solidly kicked, and he’d know he had it coming. Guys instinctively understand things like boundaries, territory and aggression. If you cross the line, and you’re not prepared to fight, it’s the last time you’ll make that mistake. Men correct each other’s behavior naturally, from kindergarten on up.

Women know nothing of such concepts because they’ve never been forced to learn. Since first grade it’s drilled into our brain, “You never hit a girl.” It just isn’t done. Guys who haven’t gotten that message earn no respect in the company of men. Jackie Gleason in The Honeymooners was always saying, “One of these days, Alice... POW!!!” And it was funny, because you knew it was an empty threat with no balls behind it. Never gonna happen. And that’s how it should be.

But... it means women grow up knowing there are no natural consequences for inappropriate behavior. Like with that poor schmuck in the video, the most that will happen is they’ll get called a bitch or a cunt, and clearly they consider that an acceptable occupational hazard when they’re in the mood to be a bitch or a cunt. I’m just thinking, if a few black eyes were tossed into the mix now and again, it would have a definite conditioning effect on learned behavior.

Guys can’t do it; we’re out of that loop. But it’d be nice if once a while, among the girls, when one of them goes off the grid and starts giving women everywhere a bad name with their rotten behavior, one of them just said, “Karen, you’re a fucking asshole,” and WHAM!!!—let her have it. Self policing at its best. Operant conditioning in their natural habitat.

Wishful thinking. So all we can do is pull out our pathetic little iPhones and capture them in the act of being thoroughly horrible. And the only consolation—knowing that she’ll be gone in a minute or two, while there’s some other poor bastard she’s probably going home to who has to put up with it every day and you can thank God that’s not you.
