Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.In Spanish, there is no equivalent for "nigger." "Negro" does not carry the same connotation in any way, shape or form. You can use it in the same way, but it's just not an insult. This is obviously within an American context, so what I'm saying doesn't apply. Just wanted to share the trivia.

I worked as a prison guard in a private facility that contracted out to INS and BOP. The majority of our inmates were from south of our border. We had several guys from Nigeria, and there were quite a few black guards. Neggro was used by the hispanic inmates with all the same connotations as nigger is used in this country. That was my introduction to the wording.
@KCSantiago Yeah, but you were in America. I mean in Spanish when used in our culture.outside from the reach of the Anglo culture. I'm not criticizing, we are nasty in our own way. Just thought it would be interesting.
I understood that. I just wanted to make my reference clear. But I admit I was also of the thought that this was common outside the U. S. as well. So you helped clear up that misunderstanding on my part. I might be a geezer, but can still learn a thing or hehe, nice to know.
